Horror as wife films husband’s fatal ‘tombstone’ leap from 100ft Magaluf cliff
THE horrifying moment a husband fell to his death after leaping from an 100ft clifftop was filmed by his wife from a boat below.
Shocking footage shows the 31-year-old holidaymaker jumping from a rockface above a Majorcan coast near Magaluf.
But instead of dropping into the sea, he hits a rocky outcrop with a sickening crunch and bounces into the sea like a rag doll.
The Dutch tourist is seen standing on the cliff at an islet in the Malgrats Islands on May 12.
As he leaps into the air, the man lets out a massive scream – but doesn’t have enough momentum to clear the razor-sharp rocks below.
As he crashes into them at high speed, his wife can be heard shouting: “Oh my God.”
The victim’s partner and son reportedly received psychological help.
Local authorities looked for the tourist’s body with a rescue boat, helicopter and diving team.
After a long search, the body was found in the water.
It is unclear if the local authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
Tombstoning is a stunt where thrill-seekers hurl themselves off cliff edges and hit the water feet first.
Majorca is popular with tombstoning fans for its high, rocky coasts and even has agencies specialising in supervising holidaymakers’ jumps.
