I posed NAKED on a holy tree in Bali …now I face six years in jail and £55k fine
A RUSSIAN yoga influencer faces up to six YEARS in jail and a £55,000 fine after posing completely naked for a photo shoot under a sacred tree in Bali.
Instagram star Alina Yoga shared pictures of her pushing her boobs up against the tree in Indonesia on her popular social media account.
But the saucy snaps soon found their way to Balinese entrepreneur Niluh Djelantik who grassed her up and called on the local authorities to intervene.
Djelantik said the Russian beauty had posed naked at the 700-year-old weeping paperbark tree, known locally as kayu putih.
Now the bendy influencer – who has over 16,000 followers on Instagram – could face up to six years in jail if she’s found guilty under local porn laws.
The photos show her perched on the trunk absolutely starkers as she looks cheekily over her shoulder.
The tree is located at Babakan Temple in Tabananm on the Indonesian paradise island of Bali.
And because the giant tree is considered sacred to locals, the nude images sparked fury.
Fuming Djelantik said immigration officials are now tracking down the naked Russian.
Amid a backlash, Alina deleted the nude snaps from her account and posted a U-turn apology video on May 4.
The new video – this time showing her fully clothed and praying at the base of the sacred tree – was accompanied by the message: “I apologise to all Balinese and Indonesian people, I regret my actions.”
She went on: “I’m so embarrassed, I didn’t mean to offend you in any way, absolutely no knowledge of this place.
“I just prayed under a tree and went straight to the police station to explain this incident and apologise.”
Tabanan Police spokesperson Ranefli Dian Candra confirmed that Alina had turned herself over to the authorities and that the case will continue to be processed.
But they did not mention what punishment the naked Instagram star is likely to face.
According to reports, Alina could be charged with spreading pornography under the country’s harsh Information and Electronic Transactions Act (ITE).
If convicted of spreading pornography, she could face up to six years in prison or a fine of IDR 1 billion (£55,432).
