“Let’s start anew for a bigger leap forward.”

Park Jung-won, Chairman of the Doosan Group. Since taking office as Chairman of the Doosan Group in early 2016, Chairman Park has focused on revitalizing the Doosan Group, which has fallen into recession. He laid the foundation for ‘New Doosan’ by pursuing major financial restructuring and business restructuring.

The results started to show up last year. New businesses, such as hydrogen fuel cells, drones, cooperative robots, and logistics automation, led by Chairman Park, are showing a sharp growth.

Doosan Fuel Cell is leading the market with unrivaled technology in the field of hydrogen fuel cell power generation. Doosan Fuel Cell’s main product is a 440kW phosphoric acid fuel cell. It is a method that produces electricity and heat at the same time through a chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen. It is popular with customers because it can utilize various energy sources such as clean hydrogen, by-product hydrogen, natural gas, and LPG.

In the field of hydrogen mobility, Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) is drawing attention for its outstanding technology. DMI researchers have commercialized the world’s first hydrogen drone that can fly for more than two hours.

The growth of the collaborative robot business is also dazzling. It is a business that Chairman Park has nurtured since his days as chairman of the holding division of Doosan Corporation along with hydrogen fuel cells. Founded in 2015, Doosan Robotics produces collaborative robots that boast the highest level of stability in the industry. Since 2018, it has maintained the No. 1 position in the domestic cooperative robot market share. It is also popular overseas such as North America and Western Europe. It entered the ‘Global Top 5’ for the first time as a domestic cooperative robot company. Currently, it is not limited to manufacturing, but is expanding its scope to the service industry as a whole.

Chairman Park’s next goal is ‘Advanced IT Industry’. He selected the semiconductor and high-tech IT fields as new businesses that will lead the group along with the energy and industrial machinery sectors.

Starting this year, we will start to foster the semiconductor industry in earnest. Doosan Corporation held a board meeting on March 8 and decided to acquire TESNA, the No. 1 company in the domestic semiconductor testing field. Tesna is a company specializing in testing system semiconductor products such as application processors (AP) and camera image sensors (CIS). In the wafer test field, it is firmly holding the No. 1 market share. Chairman Park expressed his will to solidify the competitiveness of Tesna as Korea’s No. 1 semiconductor test company through active investment.
