Bride-to-be blindfolds fiancé for hilltop ‘surprise’… then SLITS his throat
A BRIDE-to be allegedly blindfolded her fiancé at an isolated hilltop telling him she had a “surprise” for him before slitting his throat.
The bizarre incident happened at a temple in Andhra Pradesh, India, where Viyyapu Pushpa, 22, left her fiancee Addepallu Ram Naidu, 28 to die.
The pair were engaged through an arranged marriage agreement between their families and were due to be married on May 29.
Police said the 22-year-old confessed to her crime saying she was trying to get out of the arranged marriage.
According to local reports the incident happened on April 18, when the couple went to the temple in Amarapuri after having lunch at Naidu’s house.
Pushpa reportedly told him she wanted to introduce him to her friends.

On the way to the hill, she stopped and bought something from a shop, telling him it was a surprise gift.
Once they reached the top of the hill, Pushpa reportedly blindfolded her fiancé using a scarf on the pretext of showing him the present.
She then allegedly proceeded to attack him with a knife and slit his throat.
The man miraculously survived after locals rushed him to the hospital where he received 30 stitches.
He later told local media that when he removed his blindfold Pushpa told him she doesn’t want to get married.
Sunil Kumar, the deputy superintendent of police in Andhra Pradesh, told Vice World News: “According to her statement, she just didn’t want to get married to this guy or anyone else.”
He added that while Pushpa was not pressured into marrying Naidu she did not share her doubts with her family and did not think about the consequences of her “immature” actions.
In an interview with a local TV channel Naidu, speaking from his hospital bed, said his parents arranged the match last year.
Pushpa has been charged with attempted murder and is now in custody.
If convicted, she could be jailed for ten years.
Now the couple’s parents blame each other for the incident.

Kumar added: “His parents say he is innocent, while the man’s parents demand justice.”
The wedding has been cancelled.
