Siege is back… Will ‘Lineage W’ retake the top spot in sales?
NCsoft’s ‘Lineage W’ introduced ‘Siege War’, the most popular content in the Lineage series. The ‘siege war’, in which game users wage war in groups, has been cited as one of the driving forces that made Lineage IP the most popular game. In fact, the siege of the ‘Bars Liberation War’ that took place on the PC game Lineage 2 Barts server drew social attention beyond the game industry.
NCsoft has updated Lineage W for ‘The First Siege: Kent Castle’. The first siege will start at 9 PM on April 24th, Korean time.
Siege is the core content of Lineage IP, in which clan battles for dominance of the castle. In the Siege of Lineage W, all users from 12 countries will participate together. The first siege will be held at Kent Castle. Characters above level 50 can participate. A siege can be declared every Sunday at 8:00 PM, and the siege begins at 9:00 PM. The victorious clan immediately obtains a ‘victory reward’ and receives a ‘occupation reward’ upon daily tax settlement.
As in the previous series, Lineage W’s siege is conducted by destroying the guard tower and occupying the castle when the monarch acquires a ‘crown’. Users can enjoy the differentiated siege warfare unique to Lineage W by creating two types of siege weapons (barrier, reinforced barrier), which are new contents. Up to two siege weapons per type can be produced per week, and can be placed in the siege battle area.
Users who do not belong to the siege/bear clan can participate in the siege as a mercenary. When participating as a mercenary, you get rewards such as diamonds, adena, and honor coins according to your contribution.
Lineage W commemorates the first siege battle ▲ ‘Invitation of the Red Knight Commander’ to obtain a reward when entering the battlefield more than once during the siege process ▲ ‘Qualification of a Red Knight’ that presents useful items for battle through attendance ▲ Three types of events will be held, including the ‘Red Knights Support Box’, which provides push mail rewards.
Through core content updates, Lineage W aims to ‘return sales’. It is determined to regain the title of ‘No. 1 in sales’, which was lost to Nexon’s new ‘Dungeon & Fighter Mobile’.
