According to the analysis result of ‘2017-2021 Nutrient Deficiency and Obesity Statistics’ released by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service on April 21, the number of obese patients last year was 31,170, more than double the number of 14,966 in 2017. The HIRA cited an increase in delivery food intake and aggravated lack of exercise due to COVID-19 as the cause. Meanwhile, the number of malnourished patients reached 335,441 last year, 2.2 times higher than in 2017.
