Status: 01/26/2022 12:55 p.m
Two men from North Rhine-Westphalia are suspects, they are said to have committed sexualized violence to several children. The youngest was just five months old at the time of the crime, says the Wuppertal public prosecutor. It will be determined against 100 other people.
The two men are accused of sexualised violence and the exchange of child pornographic material. One of the accused is a 22-year-old student from Wuppertal. His actions are related to four children aged five months to twelve years, which he is said to have committed in Minden. The second accused, a 44-year-old man from Wetter, is accused of sexual violence against a one-year-old boy.
Investigations against more than 100 other people
The two accused are also said to have filmed, photographed and shared their acts of abuse with others. In this context, the Wuppertal public prosecutor’s office is investigating more than 100 other people nationwide. Investigators were able to find a large amount of data carriers on the two men during searches. These include digital cameras, game consoles, USB sticks and chat histories, which are still being evaluated. The affected children could also be identified. The secured recordings apparently led to a nationwide exchange ring of child pornography collectors.
Indebtedness is in the room
The two men met through a dating app, according to investigators. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the 22-year-old from Wuppertal is probably not guilty because of a mental illness. The 44-year-old man from Wetter faces a long prison sentence if convicted. He has so far refused to testify. The co-accused is said to have commented in detail on the allegations.
