FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The prices of German government bonds picked up on their most recent losses on Monday. In the morning, the trend-setting futures contract gave the Euro Bund Future by 0.10 percent to 169.89 points. The yield on ten-year Bunds was minus 0.04 percent.

“Inflation and the reactions of the central banks to it are the dominant topics on the bond markets,” wrote the experts at Landesbank Helaba. Against this background, the environment remains difficult, although it should be taken into account that more than three key rate hikes by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) up to the end of this year have been taken into account in the rates.

The latest US job report for December on Friday highlighted the current labor shortage in the US. According to experts, this is increasing pressure on the Fed to raise interest rates faster than previously thought. Accordingly, bond prices are currently coming under pressure./la/eas
