BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – In the discussion about a general compulsory vaccination against the coronavirus, the SPD is aiming for a resolution by the end of March at the latest. “We aim to conclude the legislative process in the first quarter of this year,” declared the deputy parliamentary group chairmen Dagmar Schmidt and Dirk Wiese on Thursday.

A broad discussion is important and necessary for this socially sensitive topic. “So we will take enough time for it.” After the important opinion of the German Ethics Council on the possibility of a general vaccination requirement, January should be used for this debate – with experts, in the parliamentary group, in the constituencies and an “orientation debate” in Parliament./sam/DP/jha
