Why the euro is quoted just above 1.13 US dollars

The euro struggled to hold above $ 1.13 on Wednesday.

The common currency, the euro, moved little in the morning and was most recently quoted at $ 1.1304. The European Central Bank had set the reference rate the previous day at 1.1331 (Monday: 1.1312) dollars.

On Tuesday, the euro rate slipped just below $ 1.13 in continued quiet trading, but was able to recover quickly. The common currency recently benefited from the positive mood on the European financial markets. On Wednesday, however, the stock rally could take a break towards the end of the year. Correspondingly, stockbrokers also spoke of a subdued reaction of the euro.
