Shares Vienna end: Hardly any movement before the turn of the year

VIENNA (dpa-AFX) – The Vienna Stock Exchange closed hardly changed on Tuesday. The Austrian leading index ATX ended a quiet trading day with a minus of 0.04 percent at 3870.86 points. The broader ATX Prime also lost 0.04 percent to 1940.01 points. While other stock exchanges rose slightly, there was hardly any movement in Vienna.

The markets were supported by the hope of a comparatively mild disease course in the Omikron variant of the coronavirus and a friendly mood on the US stock exchanges. Many market participants are likely to have closed their books for this year and are no longer active, it said.

There was no important company news on Tuesday, so most share price movements were kept within narrow limits. The biggest winners in the Prime Market were Kapsch TrafficCom with an increase of 3.70 percent. There were also clear gains for Mayr-Melnhof (Mayr-Melnhof Karton) (plus 1.81 percent) and Porr (plus 1.78 percent). When the volume was higher, OMV were wanted: The shares of the oil and gas group gained 0.80 percent.

In the case of larger sales, Raiffeisen Bank International (Raiffeisen) stocks were weak and fell by 1.92 percent. The biggest losers in the prime market were Marinomed with a minus of 3.26 percent. The other losers included two titles related to the aviation industry: Vienna Airport lost 1.48 percent. Title of on-board catering Do & Co lost 2.48 percent./mik/pma/APA/stw
