FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The prices of German government bonds hardly changed on Tuesday. The trend-setting futures contract Euro-Bund-Future fell 0.01 percent to 172.30 points. The yield on ten-year Bunds rose to minus 0.24 percent.

In the meantime, movements in this country and on the other European bond markets were limited towards the end of the year. Important economic data were not published in the euro zone.

The price development on the bond markets is being dampened by the hope that the new Omikron variant of the coronavirus is not as dangerous as initially feared. However, the restrictions on public life have recently increased in many European countries.
