Energiekontor sells wind farm in Lower Saxony to an Austrian energy supply company

– Total generation capacity of around 11.2 MW
– When converted, power is sufficient for almost 10,000 households

Bremen, December 27, 2021 – Energiekontor, one of the leading German project developers and operators of wind and solar parks, has sold the “Völkersen” wind park to an Austrian utility company. The wind farm is located in the municipality of Langwedel in the district of Verden in Lower Saxony and is scheduled to go into operation in 2022. The park consists of two wind turbines with a total generation capacity of around 11.2 MW. The expected annual yield of the wind farm is over
28 million kilowatt hours are. This amount of electricity is mathematically sufficient to supply almost 10,000 German households with green electricity.

The buyer of the wind farm is an Austrian energy supply company that has been using renewable energy sources for power generation for many years. After commissioning, Energiekontor will take over the commercial and technical management of the park.

“With the sale of the Völkersen wind farm, our positive business development will continue in the last days of the year in 2021. With a large number of wind and solar projects that are currently under construction, as well as a well-filled and attractive project pipeline we are very optimistic that we will continue this positive trend in 2022 “, says Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG.

About Energiekontor AG:

A solid business policy and a lot of experience in the field of renewable energies: this is what Energiekontor has stood for for over 30 years. Founded in Bremerhaven in 1990, the company is one of the pioneers in the industry and is now one of the leading German project developers. The core business ranges from planning and construction to the management of wind farms in Germany and abroad and was expanded to include solar energy in 2010. Energiekontor also operates wind and solar parks with a nominal output of almost 330 megawatts in its own portfolio. Energiekontor AG would also like to play a pioneering role economically and implement the first wind and solar parks in all target markets as quickly as possible, regardless of state subsidies at market prices.

In addition to the company headquarters in Bremen, Energiekontor has offices in Bremerhaven, Hagen im Bremischen, Aachen, Augsburg, Bernau near Berlin and Potsdam. The company also has branches in England (Leeds), Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow), Portugal (Lisbon), USA (Houston / Texas and Rapid City / South Dakota) and France (Toulouse, Rouen).

The proud record since the company was founded: 130 implemented wind parks and 12 solar parks with a total output of well over 1 gigawatt. This corresponds to an investment volume of around 1.8 billion euros.

The company went public on May 25, 2000. The Energiekontor AG share (WKN 531350 / ISIN DE0005313506) is listed in the General Standard of the Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt and can be traded on all German stock exchanges.
