The flashing and squeaking device modules that are stacked at the head end show that a seriously ill person needs all the help that modern medicine can offer. If an infection were added, the chances of survival would be poor.

That is why hygiene is the top priority here – and it cannot be overlooked: a dispenser with hand disinfectant and instructions hangs on almost every room door: Place a load on the middle of the hand, rub it in as you would when washing your hands, put your fingertips in the palm of your hand, wet the back of your hand, distribute it between your fingers. The whole procedure must take at least 30 seconds – before and after each contact with the patient.
