Contact restrictions in Saarland for vaccinated people after Christmas
SAARBRÜCKEN (dpa-AFX) – In Saarland, contact restrictions will also apply to those who have recovered and who have been vaccinated from next Tuesday. According to the agreement of the federal and state governments, only a maximum of ten people are allowed for private get-togethers. The state chancellery announced on Wednesday in Saarbrücken that the corresponding state ordinance will be adjusted. Children under 14 years of age and people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons are excluded. Most recently, there were no longer any contact restrictions in the Saarland for vaccinated or convalescent people.
The background to the changes is the Coronavirus variant Omikron, the spread of which is intended to be slowed down. According to previous knowledge, Omikron is significantly more contagious, which means that significantly more people could get Covid-19 in a short time than with the previous variants.
As early as this Thursday, the regulation will come into force in Saarland that unvaccinated or non-convalescent people may come together with people from their own household and a maximum of two people from another household. So far, a maximum of one person from another household has been allowed to join.
Discos and clubs have already had to close in Saarland, and comparable dance events are no longer allowed from next Tuesday. This also applies to events with more than 1000 participants or spectators. In addition, universities must enable students to participate in courses in digital form if they cannot provide proof of 2G (vaccinated or recovered). / Hus / DP / jha
