Scholz: The new government provides 1 billion euros for a care bonus

From Andrea Thomas

BERLIN (Dow Jones) – The upcoming federal government will grant caregivers a total care bonus of 1 billion euros. This is intended to reward their use in the corona pandemic. At the same time, he was concerned about the high number of infections.

“The situation is serious,” said Scholz at the presentation of the new coalition agreement. The agreed 2G and 2G-Plus rules, which grant vaccinated and convalescent access to indoor spaces and events, while unvaccinated people have to stay outside, must now be implemented.

In addition, the vaccination campaign must be accelerated. There should be compulsory vaccination for nursing homes. The coalition will also examine whether the compulsory vaccination should be expanded.
