RWE builds another onshore wind farm in Italy – RWE share slightly higher

After winning the Italian onshore auction, RWE will build its 17th wind farm in Italy.

The future 25.2 megawatt wind farm is located in Sicily, where four wind farms are already being operated, the group announced. The Italian government has issued a bilateral contract for difference for the onshore Selinus project.

For Selinus, RWE will have six Vestas wind turbines (type V136) with a nominal output of 4.2 megawatts. After commissioning in the third quarter of 2022, the systems should generate enough green electricity to meet the annual needs of over 22,000 Italian households. RWE is investing over 30 million euros in the project. Selinus is expected to start generating electricity commercially from the fourth quarter of 2022.

The RWE share is listed in XETRA trading 0.55 percent higher at 32.67 euros.
