More corona first vaccinations again – highest value in two months

BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – The vaccination campaign in Germany is picking up momentum again: on Tuesday, as many people received an initial vaccination against the corona virus as last two months ago. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), 84,478 people in Germany were vaccinated against the virus for the first time (as of Wednesday, 10:43 a.m.). A similarly high value was last reached on September 23, when 90 995 people had their first immunization against the dangerous virus.

On Tuesday, a good 56,000 second and almost half a million booster vaccinations were also administered. A total of 68.1 percent of Germans – 56.6 million – are fully vaccinated against Corona. 58.8 million (70.7 percent) received a primary vaccination. 6.6 million people have also received a booster vaccination. A total of 638 109 vaccinations were administered – the last time on July 28 (693 714).

The RKI assumes that probably more people are vaccinated among adults than the data suggests: 100% registration of the vaccinations cannot be achieved by the reporting system, according to the vaccination overview of the RKI.

There are also significant regional differences in the level of vaccinations against the coronavirus: Among the federal states, Bremen has the highest proportion of first-time vaccinations with 82.3 percent. Saxony brings up the rear, with 60.0 percent of the population vaccinated once. With 79.7 percent, Bremen also has the highest proportion of fully vaccinated residents. Saxony is also at the bottom with 57.8 percent./nku/DP/eas
