FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The mechanical engineering division for automation technology expects the recovery to continue in the coming year thanks to well-filled order books. In the first nine months of the current year, orders in the electrical automation area increased by 38 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. Orders for sensors (plus 32 percent) and control technology (plus 42 percent), among other things, recorded increasing orders, as the responsible department in the mechanical engineering association VDMA announced on Wednesday in Frankfurt.
Sales increased by a total of 23 percent. A further increase in sales of 5 percent is expected in the coming year. However, there is concern about the lack of material caused by the corona, which is affecting large parts of German industry./jce/DP/stw
