FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The Frankfurt airport operator Fraport (Fraport share) AG surrenders shares in its subsidiary FraSec Luftsicherheit GmbH to a private competitor. The planned partial sale serves to prepare for new tenders for passenger controls from 2023. At this point in time, Fraport AG will take over control of the private control service providers from the federal police. A wholly owned subsidiary could not be given orders, so that a strategic partner is now the majority owner. FraSec Luftsicherheit GmbH currently has around 1500 employees. The antitrust review of the deal is still pending.

Sasse AG, with more than 6500 employees, is represented at Frankfurt Airport with cleaning orders, but has not yet carried out any air security checks. According to Management Board member Pierre Dominique Prümm, Fraport AG is aiming for cooperation with probably three service providers with a tender. The model is the airport in Amsterdam.
