BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – A corona vaccination obligation for certain professional groups will be introduced according to the FDP chairman Christian Lindner. “In the meantime, the federal and state governments have spoken out in favor of a facility-related vaccination requirement. It will therefore come,” said Lindner of the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” (Saturday). At the beginning of the pandemic, everyone, including the Chancellor, had ruled out any vaccination requirements. Practitioners also had concerns that employees would then leave their jobs. “In the meantime it is generally assessed differently,” said Lindner.
At the Prime Minister’s Conference on Thursday, the federal states asked the federal government to introduce compulsory vaccinations for all employees who have contact with particularly vulnerable people in certain facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes. The question of compulsory vaccination has been controversial in the past. Lindner himself had recently not ruled out compulsory vaccination for certain occupational groups and facilities. The FDP parliamentary group began on Friday with an expert hearing on the subject ./seb/DP/ngu
