PARIS / LONDON (dpa-AFX) – The most important European stock exchanges suffered somewhat on Friday from newly flared lockdown worries and rising corona numbers. The EuroStoxx 50 as the leading index of the euro zone fell by 0.62 percent to 4356.47 points. On a weekly basis, the result is a minus of 0.32 percent.

It looked similar on Friday at the major country exchanges. The French Cac 40 had struggled to reach a record high in early trading, but quickly slipped into the red and finally fell by 0.42 percent to 7112.29 points. The British FTSE 100 lost 0.45 percent to 7223.57 points.

Market expert Andreas Lipkow from the Comdirect referred to the “airy price level” on the markets. Furthermore, the corona pandemic issue is coming back to the stock markets with full force. The business impact should not be underestimated.
