BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – The Berlin Senate Department is investigating a report according to which the sporting goods manufacturer Nike (Nike share) systematically new goods, for example from returns, are destroyed. Reporters from ARD and the weekly newspaper “Die Zeit” had used GPS trackers to track the route of returns to a recycling facility. When asked on Thursday, Nike has not yet commented on it.

After the report was published, the Senate Department for the Environment tried, according to a spokesman, to contact Nike to clarify the questions raised. “The aim is to analyze and evaluate the facts.”
