BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – When asked about the suitability as Federal Finance Minister, FDP boss Christian Lindner has, according to a Forsa survey, the nose in front of Green boss Robert Habeck. In the current “trend barometer” from RTL and ntv, 44 percent said they were in favor of Lindner when asked who they consider suitable for the post. Habeck came to 29 percent. 27 percent do not consider either of the two to be suitable.
If the general election were on Sunday, the SPD would retain its top position with an unchanged 25 percent. The Union would gain one percentage point and come to 21 percent. The Greens and the FDP would each lose one point and would be 16 and 15 percent respectively. The values for the AfD (9 percent) and the left (5 percent) remained unchanged.
If those eligible to vote could directly elect the Chancellor, SPD Chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz would get 50 percent (-2). CDU leader Armin Laschet would still only vote 8 percent as head of government. 42 percent would not choose either of the two.
Election polls are generally fraught with uncertainty. Among other things, declining party ties and increasingly short-term voting decisions make it more difficult for opinion research institutes to weight the data collected. In principle, surveys only reflect the opinion at the time of the survey and are not a prognosis for an election result./shy/DP/jha
