Wall Street closes with records and the Dow Jones exceeds 36 thousand points
Wall Street closed this Tuesday with new records in its three main indicators, among which the Dow Jones of Industrials also surpassed the milestone of 36 thousand points.
According to provisional data at the end of the session on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones rose 0.39% or 138.79 points, to 36,052.63 units; and the selective S&P 500 it rose 0.37% or 16.98 points, to 4,630.65.
The composite index of the Nasdaq market, in which the technologies with the largest capitalization are listed, it progressed 0.34% or 53.69 units, up to 15,649.60 points.
The New York parquet accelerated after a poor start to the day and scored his third consecutive session at all-time highs, despite the nerves over the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy meeting that ends tomorrow.
The central bank is expected to announce the reduction of the purchases of public debt worth 120 billion dollars that it implemented as part of the stimulus to counter the coronavirus crisis.
According to analysts, the market is still buoyed by the good quarterly results season, among which today the pharmaceutical company Pfizer stood out (4.22%), with accounts driven by the sales of its anticovid vaccine.
